Redheffer Type Inequality for Bessel Functions
In this short note, by using mathematical induction and infinite product representations of the functions Jp : R → (−∞, 1] and Ip : R → [1,∞), defined by Jp(x) = 2Γ(p + 1)xJp(x) and Ip(x) = 2Γ(p + 1)xIp(x), an extension of Redheffer’s inequality for the function Jp and a Redheffer-type inequality for the function Ip are established. Here Jp and Ip, denotes the Bessel function and modified Besse...
متن کاملOn Turán Type Inequalities for Modified Bessel Functions
In this note our aim is to point out that certain inequalities for modified Bessel functions of the first and second kind, deduced recently by Laforgia and Natalini, are in fact equivalent to the corresponding Turán type inequalities for these functions. Moreover, we present some new Turán type inequalities for the aforementioned functions and we show that their product is decreasing as a funct...
متن کاملSome Inequalities for Modified Bessel Functions
We denote by Iν and Kν the Bessel functions of the first and third kind, respectively. Motivated by the relevance of the function wν t t Iν−1 t /Iν t , t > 0, in many contexts of applied mathematics and, in particular, in some elasticity problems Simpson and Spector 1984 , we establish new inequalities for Iν t /Iν−1 t . The results are based on the recurrence relations for Iν and Iν−1 and the ...
متن کاملTurán Type Inequalities for General Bessel Functions
In this paper some Turán type inequalities for the general Bessel function, monotonicity and bounds for its logarithmic derivative are derived. Moreover we find the series representation and the relative extrema of the Turánian of general Bessel functions. The key tools in the proofs are the recurrence relations together with some asymptotic relations for Bessel functions.
متن کاملJordan-type Inequalities for Generalized Bessel Functions
In this note our aim is to present some Jordan-type inequalities for generalized Bessel functions in order to extend some recent results concerning generalized and sharp versions of the well-known Jordan’s inequality.
